Weezer Brings The Gathering Tour to Portland's Moda Center

Weezer’s stop in Portland brought together a crowd that seemed to span just about every generation. There were kids with their parents, younger fans and people who have clearly been following the band for years, all singing along with the same excitement throughout the night.

 

The production gave the show plenty of personality without taking attention away from the music. The stage was designed to look like a house, something you don’t see very often at a show, and it made the whole setup feel a little more playful. Paired with a strong setlist, it felt like a show that had been carefully put together rather than simply another stop on the tour.

 

That effort also showed in the way the band connected with the crowd. The energy stayed consistent throughout the set, and there was a real sense that the fans were part of the night rather than just watching it from the other side of the stage.

 

They kept that energy going through the end of the show, tossing large pool floats into the audience for fans to pass around the arena. It was a fun way to close out a night that never felt overly serious, but still showed how much work went into giving the crowd a complete experience.
