August Concert Preview: Utah First Amphitheatre Brings a Massive Month of Rock to Utah

Summer concert season is hitting its stride in Utah as August is shaping up to be one of the busiest months for live music in Utah with rock taking center stage. Everything from reggae rock to southern rock, pop rock to heavy rock is taking over the stage and heating things up at The Utah First Credit Union Amphitheater.
Grab your concert buddy or crew and get ready to make some core memories. Whether you’re chasing a night of nostalgia or looking for one of the biggest tours of the year, there’s something on the calendar for every music lover in August.
Saturday August 8 – 311 & Dirty Heads
The Month kicks off with the laid-back vibes of 311 and Dirty Heads as they bring their blend of reggae, alt rock and hip hop to Utah on the So Glad You Made It Tour. Ocean Alley and ROME round out the lineup in a show that perfectly fits an outdoor summer evening.
Thursday August 13 – The Black Crowes & Whiskey Myers
The Southern Hospitality Tour comes to Utah pairing the blues rooted rock of The Black Crowes with the southern rock sounds of Whiskey Myers in a night that’s sure to feature plenty of guitar making this a must-see show.
Wednesday August 19 – Train
Train returns to Utah bringing their Drops of Jupiter: 25 Years in the Atmosphere Tour marking the 25th anniversary of the Drops of Jupiter era. The night pairs them with support from Barenaked Ladies and Matt Nathanson. Fans can expect a night of some of Trains’ biggest hits and more from their career spanning over three decades.
Thursday August 20 – Muse
Muse brings The Wow! Signal Tour to Utah, in what’s sure to be one of the biggest productions to come this year. The English rock trio has built a reputation for cinematic elements and some of rock’s most ambitious live show productions.
Friday August 21 – Toto, Christopher Cross & The Romantics
Three legendary acts from the late 70’s and 80’s team up for one of the most nostalgic nights to hit the Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre stage. Toto, Christopher Cross and The Romantics helped define an era with some of the most recognizable songs like Toto’s “Africa” and “Rosanna,” Cross’ “Sailing” and The Romantics “What I Like About You.”
Tuesday, August 25 – Avenged Sevenfold & Good Charlotte
In one of the heaviest nights of the summer Avenged Sevenfold and Good Charlotte team up for a night of to remember. Expect plenty of heavy riffs, screams and pyro as the night pairs two of the bands that helped shape the 2000’s.
Wednesday, August 26 – 5 Seconds of Summer
The Australian pop rock act brings their latest world tour to Utah in one of the most anticipated shows of the year. This stop marks their first return to Utah since 2019 and marks 10 years to the day since they last played at the Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre (formerly USANA Amphitheatre.)
Sunday, August 30 – Styx & Chicago
August closes the month out with two legends of rock who have spent decades filling arenas with unforgettable songs and timeless hits sharing the stage making this one of the months can’t miss shows for rock lovers.
