KORN AND STAIND ROCK WEST VALLEY CITY AT USANA AMPHITHEATRE

It’s been a while since we have got to see Staind on the tour circuit.  Their last time touring together was back in 2014 which feels like quite a while ago.  This past Tuesday we had the privilege of seeing them on stage at USANA Amphitheatre in West Valley City, Utah when they came to town with Korn on their co-headlining summer tour.

Fans were in the mood to see one of the premier rock bands on stage again and they did not disappoint.  Right from the first song of the set, which was “Eyes Wide Open”, the 13,000 plus fans in attendance were on their feet singing along.  With no new music out since 2011’s Staind the setlist played like a greatest hits track with songs like “Right Here” “So Far Away” and “It’s Been A While.”  It’s easy to see why they are one of top rock bands with the energy and performance they put on.  Front man Aaron Lewis let his vocals be the star of his performance.  He was more subdued in energy walking around when he wasn’t singing with his signature voice and growls in his performance.  The rest of the band showed no rust or problems playing in sync with each other after not having toured since 2014.  There is something magical about seeing masters of art perform their work and this is definitely what we saw this night.  Although they must have practiced and rehearsed to get back into live mode their performance came together perfectly with no hiccups giving the impression that they had never taken a break and had been playing together all this time.

After witnessing the energy and connection the band still has with their fans it makes me even more excited that new Staind music is in the works, and it looks like we may possibly hear it next year.  New music means we will definitely see them on the road again soon which is something that I am looking forward to.
