Shinedown Brings the Dance Kid Dance Tour to Utah
August 18, 2025

Last week the Maverik Center in West Valley City, Utah, played host to the Dance Kid Dance Tour as Shinedown came to town along with iconic 90’s rock act Bush, and rising star Morgan Wade.
Fans poured into the arena with the merch lines quickly backing up and the GA pit section filled up with fans trying to get as close to the rails as possible. Fans were excited as they staked out their positions near the stage and got their posters and messages ready to show the artists as they performed.
Morgan Wade opened the show to the cheers of the crowd. Wade has quickly become a fan favorite in Utah with her shows almost always selling out or being near capacity. It was a treat to see her on a bigger stage where her band could be seen better, and her charisma could shine. Along the rails fans of Wade’s yelled out to her and holding signs up welcoming her back. Her set showcased her raw talents with her vocals shining and her stage presence seemingly even better than the last time she came to town. Overall, her set was a great way to open the show.
After a quick break the 90’s legendary rockers, Bush took the stage to the roar of the crowd. The band was on point this night with vocalist Gavin Rossdale shining as always and showing no signs of slowing down after having been in the business for over 30 years. His voice still sounding nearly as it did in the 90’s and his charisma even more exuberant than before. Wasting no time in getting things going the band broke into their smash hit “Machinehead” for the second song of the night. As soon as the notes hit the speaker the band was nearly drowned out by the cheers from the crowd and then the venue filled with a giant sing-along taking place.
Rossdale looked as though he was having the time of his life running around the stage and it’s two catwalk setup before jumping the rails and going into the arena seats and performing while standing amongst the fans. The band would close their set out with “Comedown” and another giant sing-along taking place before Rossdale and company were treated to a massive ovation before they left the stage.
Next up was the main event of the night and a high bar had been set after the last performance, but Shinedown was ready to deliver. TV Man appeared on the stage before the show dancing as has been customary for the tour before the lights dimmed even more and the screens lit up with Dance Kid Dance emblazoned across the stage. After a moment fans were treated to a giant boom and pyrotechnics to welcome Shinedown to the stage. For the next 90 minutes we were all treated to one of the best touring bands out there today and enough pyro to rival a firework show. Vocalist Brent Smith and guitarists Zach Myers and Eric Bass performed on the catwalks in the pit as drummer, Barry Kerch, was on the main stage. Smith showcased his connection with the fans throughout the night telling stories and thanking everyone profusely for coming to the show and their support through the years.
Midway through the show the band would perform a few striped down deep cuts on the catwalk from songs that don’t normally make the setlist at their shows. When Smith or Myers would ask if anyone knew the songs the whole audience would cheer and then sing a long showing the connection of the band and their fans go beyond their mainstream hits.
After the stripped down portion, it was back to a full-on arena rock show as the band played hit after hit with sparks flying and flames blazing as the crowd sand along before closing the show out with “Monsters,” “Sound of Madness” and lastly “Second Chance.” The band left it all on the stage and fans sang their lungs out to end the night.
