Larkin Poe Deliver a Powerful Night of Southern Blues Rock at The Depot
April 15, 2025

American roots rockers Larken Poe lit up The Depot in Salt Lake City this past weekend with a performance equal parts raw, powerful and electrifying. The Nashville based sister duo – Rebecca and Megan Lovell, brought their signature Southern blues to town on ‘The Bloom Tour’ promoting their recently released album of the same name.
The pair has come to be known for their tireless touring schedule and magnetic live show presence, which has carved out a reputation as one of the hardest working bands in the business. Their Salt Lake City stop highlighted this presence and put it on full display for those in attendance.
From the moment the duo walked out onto the stage the crowd hollered their greetings and were soon awash in the sounds of Southern rock and blues. Their music resonated with the sounds of authentic music from artists who grew up listening to roots and have a deep love and respect for the sound and tradition of the music. The sisters have made it their mission to bring this type of music to more people and judging by the reaction of the crowd their fans are all for it.
The setlist pulled heavily from their new album “Bloom” giving fans a taste of their current evolution and sound. The new album has been referred to by the sisters as a turning point in their process as they co-wrote all the songs together, which revealed a more introspective side to Larkin Poe. With their new sound leading the way fans were hypnotized as Larkin Poe worked the stage with Rebecca belting out beautiful vocals and guitar riffs and Megan performing haunting harmony vocals and displaying some serious licks on her custom-made lap steel. Megan had the guitar custom-made so that she could wear it standing up and walk around the stage playing it and engaging with her sister and the fans throughout the night.
In an era where pop music fills the charts and concert venues Larkin Poe’s commitment to fresh roots driven music is a welcome change for anyone looking for authentic music to touch their souls. Their stop in Salt Lake City was a testament to the power of their music and the connection that fans felt with music steeped in tradition, passion and raw energy.
Larkin Poe will continue the Bloom Tour with stops throughout April and May. You can find more info on the tour here.
