Kaleo Closes Out the Summer Concert Series at Deer Valley Resort

September 8, 2025

This past week, Iceland’s blues/rock sensation Kaleo made a stop at the Deer Valley Resort Amphitheater in Park City, Utah. The night was a mix of excitement and bittersweet sentiment, not only were fans eager to see Kaleo, but his performance also marked the final show of The State Room Presents’ Summer Concert Series at Deer Valley for the year.

Kicking things off was Utah’s own Jazzy Olivio, whose set was a burst of energy. Backed by rich grooves of bass and saxophone, Jazzy’s vocals filled the mountain air and got the early crowd moving. Those who arrived early enough to catch her were treated to a performance that was impossible to stand still through—fans danced right alongside her, soaking in every note.

As the sun set and anticipation built, the audience nearly doubled in size. You could feel the energy shift into high gear waiting for the headliners. When Kaleo finally strode onto the stage, the crowd erupted in cheers that echoed through the mountains.

If you’ve never been to a Kaleo show, it’s an experience that blends raw rock energy with soul. Frontman Jökull Júlíusson—better known as JJ—radiates rock star cool without even trying. His presence, combined with the setting, gave the night a unique intimacy. Nestled in the mountains, the show had the feel of a campfire gathering, but there was no mistaking it for anything other than a rock spectacle.

The band’s set flowed seamlessly, each song washing over the crowd. From soaring blues ballads to gritty rock anthems, Kaleo delivered the kind of performance that reminds you why live music matters. The sound was flawless and the vibe was electric highlighting the connection between the band, the music and the fans.

As the final notes rang out, it felt like the perfect way to close both the night and the summer season. Fans swayed, sang, and reveled in every moment, carrying with them the bittersweet feeling of seeing the last show of the series. Kaleo didn’t just perform; they gave Deer Valley a memory to hold onto until the amphitheater comes alive again next year.
