Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening Brings Rock Royalty to Park City

Rock royalty took over the mountains of Park City, Utah this past weekend as Jason Bonham brought the music of Led Zeppelin to Deer Valley Resort. Fans filled the outdoor venue for an evening that wasn’t just a tribute concert, but a heartfelt journey through the music and memories of one of rock’s greatest drummers—John Bonham.
A Tribute with Heart
Jason Bonham, son of Zeppelin’s legendary drummer, started the show in 2010 as a tribute marking the 30th anniversary of his father’s passing. This show has since then grown into a full-fledged tour. Yet, it’s more than just another Zeppelin tribute show, it’s Jason’s personal connection and storytelling that transform the night into something unique.
Between masterfully played renditions of Zeppelin classics, Bonham paused to share stories of his father. One highlight came when Jason recalled asking Jimmy Page how his dad communicated song ideas without knowing how to play a guitar or keys. Page revealed that John would sing the tunes or ideas to them. “Singing? My dad?” Jason laughed, only to learn that his father once sang in a band before Zeppelin and even met Jason’s mother at one of those shows. The crowd erupted at the story, cheering as they learned something new about the icon from his son.
Another fan-favorite moment came when Jason admitted to being “star-struck” playing with Zeppelin during their reunion show. He peppered the band with so many questions that they put him on a “two questions per day limit.”
Physical Graffiti in the Spotlight
This tour celebrates the 50th anniversary of Physical Graffiti, one of Zeppelin’s most iconic albums. Bonham set the tone by opening with “Custard Pie” and “The Rover,” the first two tracks of the record. In a clever twist, he revealed the band would perform every song from the album, but not in order—keeping fans guessing as each opening riff rolled out.
The crowd lit up with each hit, dancing, singing, and cheering in the crisp mountain air. The band delivered each song with precision and power, honoring the original recordings while letting Jason’s own passion shine through.

By the end of the night, it was clear this wasn’t just about Zeppelin’s music. It was about the bond between father and son, a sons love of his father and his fathers music and between the fans and the legacy that Jason is keeping alive and celebrating.
