Halocene Supports Fame on Fire in Salt Lake CIty on The Death Card Tour

May 5, 2025

Last week, The Soundwell in Salt Lake City was overflowing with the sounds of alt/metal as Halocene brought their high-energy performance to Salt Lake City, supporting Fame on Fire on the Death Card Tour, with Archetypes Collide opening the night.

The evening kicked off with a fiery set from Archetypes Collide, whose blend of rock and metal amped up the crowd.  Their latest single “The Problem” got a strong response from the crowd, with fans singing along, clearly familiar with the new track.  Their

energy was the perfect way to open the night and set the tone for the rest of the evening.

After a brief set break, Halocene took the stage, and from the opening notes it was clear they were there to showcase why they are a rising force in the alt/metal world.  This independent powerhouse has carved out a loyal fanbase thanks to their strong online presence, particularly on Twitch and they were showing they can back that up on the stage as well.

The driving force behind Halocene’s live performance is the unyielding stage presence of vocalist Addie Nicole.  From the moment she stepped on the stage her presence demanded attention and her hauntingly powerful vocals kept the audience enthralled.

Fan’s reactions to the performance showed some favorites of the evening were Halocene’s cover of “Unholy” from Sam Smith, along with their latest single and collab with Fame on Fire, “Euphoria,” the latter of which hit especially hard in a room for its crossover appeal with fans of Fame on Fire waiting for them to take the stage.  For the finale the band closed out their set with “Maleficent” with Addie donning a set of black wings that brought their performance to a soaring finale.

Though Halocene easily could have been the headliner on their own right, fans were still eager to see the main event of the night.  Fame on Fire delivered a powerful closing set, even as frontman Bryan Kuznitz was forced to perform with a visible injury.  Kuznitz was forced to support himself with crutches which limited his ability to run around the stage.  Despite the setback the band powered through their performance earning admiration from the fans who were there for giving them a night they will never forget.
