Darius Rucker at The Days of '47 Arena at The Utah State Fair in Salt Lake City

September 30, 2026

Darius Rucker brought a perfect night of country music to the Utah State Fair on Thursday, September 17, taking the stage at the Days of ’47 Arena in Salt Lake City.

The evening couldn’t have been more tailor-made for the event, with the comfortable late summer weather settling in over the fairgrounds.  The arena provided the perfect setting for the blend of Rucker’s country music and the familiar Hootie and the Blowfish hits that have followed him throughout his career.

From the moment Rucker took the stage the crowd was on their feet and ready to go.  Fans throughout the arena sang along, couples left their seats and danced in the aisles as fan favorites filled the arena.

Rucker’s career gives him a lot of material to pull from for these shows.  Long before becoming a country musician, he introduced himself to millions of music lovers as the frontman to Hootie & the Blowfish.  His move into country music added another layer to his impressive talents and seemed like a perfect pairing with his voice launching some of the most familiar country music hits to a whole new generation.

The combination of his genre crossing career was on full display as fans sang along to Hootie hits such as “Hold My Hand” and “Only Wanna Be With You”  then danced and sang along to country hits “Come Back Song” “It Won’t Be Like This for Long” and “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It.”

Darius Rucker provided the soundtrack to one of those late summer Utah nights that seemed perfect for the fair and live music.  Familiar songs, shared memories and a crowd willing to sing and dance along, it all made for a memorable summer night.
