Clint Black Closes Out The Concert on the Slopes Series in Park City Utah

September 4, 2025

Country legend, Clint Black brought all the feels to Park City last week as he closed out the Concerts On The Slopes summer series in unforgettable fashion.  Fans filled the Canyons Village Amphitheater, nestled in the mountains of Park City, for a night of music, stories and laughter while celebrating true country music.

The evening kicked off with Utah’s own Brenn Hill, who warmed up the crowd with his down-home sound.  His set resonated with the locals and was the first step in a night of making memories.

Just when fans thought the main event of the evening was gearing up to take place we were thrown for a loop when a surprise guest was announced.  It turns out Clint Black had invited his friend Bill Engvall to join in the show to the delight of the crowd.  Fans cheered as Engvall strode out and started joking about his retirement and quipping that he needed to refresh his celebrity status as people didn’t recognize him anymore when he was getting coffee.  Of course, no show with Bill would be complete without his trademark “Here’s Your Sign” routine which he did at the end and had the fans roaring with laughter.  The surprise set was the perfect lead-in for the main event of the night.

As the mountain air started to take on a chill, fans bounced with excitement anticipating the legend to take the stage.  Once Clint Black and his band strode out onto the stage they were greeted with thunderous applause and cheers, and it was full steam ahead.

Ever the showman, Black balanced his set with fan favorites and deep cuts while mixing in personal stories between the songs.  At one point Black opened up about his father insisting he hadn’t “lived enough” yet to write real country music, at another point he brought up a memory about being snowed in during a trip to Colorado and having the “unfortunate” situation of having nothing to eat except steak while they were snowed in.  The stories and music reminded fans while Black has endured for decades not just as a singer, but a songwriter and storyteller.

Pulling from his impressive catalog, Black’s set highlighted traditional country from a bygone era and the fans were eager to relive it.  His voice was as steady and strong as ever and was accompanied by a venue full of fans filling the mountainside with their voices as well.  I couldn’t think of a more perfect way to close out the Concerts On The Slopes series for the year than with a country legend and a venue full of fans in the cool mountain air.
