Black Veil Brides Bring Fire, Emotion and Chaos to The Union Event Center in Salt Lake City
May 5, 2026

Salt Lake City’s Union Event Center became a haven for the BVB Army on April 30th as alt/goth metal rockers Black Veil Brides stormed into Utah on their tour supporting their seventh studio album, Vindicate. With a stacked lineup and fans packed shoulder to shoulder the night quickly evolved into more than just another concert. It became a emotional release for a crowd that lived every lyric and every moment alongside the bands on stage.
Opening the night were British rockers As December Falls, making their first-ever U.S. tour appearance. The Nottingham-based band wasted no time in proving why they are quickly becoming one of the most talked-about rising acts in modern rock. Frontwoman Bethany Hunter commanded the stage with confidence and charisma, immediately winning over the Salt Lake crowd. Their chemistry with the audience felt effortless, and despite being the first act of the night, they performed with the passion of seasoned headliners. If the reaction from the crowd was any indication, it likely won’t be long before they return to the States for another run.
The momentum only intensified when recent Black Veil Brides collaborators TX2 took the stage. Their set carried a raw, chaotic energy that pushed the crowd into overdrive. Frontman Evan Thomas and guitarist Cam literally brought the show into the audience at one point, diving into the crowd and igniting a pit around them as they performed. Their sound was aggressive, emotional and unpredictable in the best possible way. Calling their set “intense” hardly does it justice. They poured gasoline onto an already burning fire and left the crowd craving even more.
That energy reached another level when From Ashes to New hit the stage. Blending nu-metal, alternative metal and hip-hop influences into a relentless assault, the band delivered one of the most explosive performances of the night. Danny Case and Matt Brandyberry traded vocals seamlessly while commanding every inch of the stage. Their performance never let the crowd breathe for long. Just when it felt like the room had peaked, another crushing breakdown or massive singalong would hit even harder. The crowd reaction was so massive that at moments it genuinely felt like a headlining performance. Fans screamed every word back at the band, creating one of the loudest moments of the evening — and somehow the true main event was still waiting.
After a short interlude filled with anticipation and chants from the crowd, the lights finally dropped for Black Veil Brides.
From the moment Andy Biersack stepped onto the stage, the band looked completely locked in. Backed by nearly two decades of experience and seven studio albums, Black Veil Brides performed with the confidence and precision of a band operating at its absolute peak. Their set balanced theatrical intensity with emotional vulnerability, delivering a performance that felt both larger than life and deeply personal at the same time.
Biersack’s stage presence anchored the entire performance. Whether commanding the crowd during heavier moments or connecting emotionally between songs, he carried the weight of the room effortlessly. Around him, the band delivered a tight performance that showcased just how much Black Veil Brides have evolved musically over the years. While longtime fans erupted for classic songs, the newer material from Vindicate hit just as hard, maybe even harder, signaling a heavier and more emotionally charged era for the band.
When asked earlier about the album when it was announced Biersack said this about it:
“It’s for anyone who’s ever had their dreams doubted or their fire challenged by the people who couldn’t see their vision. We’re all born with that spark. The world will try to take that away at times, but this record is about holding onto it, fighting back, and turning those struggles into something powerful.” That message resonated deeply throughout The Union Event Center. It became obvious why the BVB Army remains one of the most loyal fanbases in rock music. The connection between Black Veil Brides and their fans goes beyond music. It is rooted in survival, identity, resilience and finding strength through pain. Every lyric screamed back toward the stage carried emotional weight.
By the end of the night, Black Veil Brides didn’t simply play in Salt Lake City, they created a shared experience of healing. It was loud, emotional, chaotic and empowering all at once.
