Big Thief performed a show at the White Oak Music Hall in Houston and showed the audience their bond and showmanship. Through brief onstage interactions, it was clear that the band shares a close friendship and a strong connection. Their energy throughout the show proved how much they love performing—from playing their instruments while facing each other to Adrianne Lenker, the singer and guitarist, lying down on the stage while playing her guitar. Each member of the band was seen smiling at different moments during the show, which the entire audience loved to see.
At one point, guitarist Buck Meek mentioned that he’s from Houston, which sent the crowd into a frenzy. Another one of my favorite moments was when Adrianne introduced the crew for the show—something I don’t often see. Toward the end of the show, she also threw her sunglasses into the crowd and had us pass them around.
For the crowd as a whole, some of the setlist highlights were Shark Smile, Vampire Empire, Masterpiece, Not, and Spud Infinity. The audience went wild when each of these songs was introduced. Everyone danced and sang along to every song, a clear sign of how deeply Big Thief’s music resonates with their fans.
